Where the data comes from

• Products: Open Food Facts and USDA FoodData Central.

What it can't tell you

Recalls are matched on brand and product name, not an exact barcode link — no public database maps one to the other. So “no recall found” means nothing matched, not that a product is certified safe. The EU/US notes state what each regulator permits, not a safety score. Ingredient flags read the label text in the product databases — “may contain” warnings often aren't in that data, so always read the package if you have an allergy.

Always check the lot code and date on your own package before deciding.
